Description

Hot Honey Salmon Bites are flavorful, bite-sized pieces of salmon seasoned with paprika, garlic, and onion powders, then air-fried to perfection and coated in a sweet and spicy hot honey butter glaze. This quick and easy recipe makes a delicious appetizer or main course that's perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Hot Honey Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¼ cup (85 g) hot honey, homemade or store-bought
  • parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 390°F to ensure it's hot and ready for cooking the salmon bites evenly.
  2. Season Salmon Bites: In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes and gently toss them until evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Air Fry Salmon: Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to cook in batches. Air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping, or until the internal temperature reaches 140-145°F.
  4. Prepare Hot Honey Glaze: While the salmon cooks, warm the butter and hot honey together in a medium saucepan over medium heat until melted and combined. Remove from heat once warmed through.
  5. Toss Salmon in Glaze: Add the cooked salmon bites to the saucepan with the hot honey glaze. Gently toss the salmon to coat each piece evenly with the glaze.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Transfer the glazed salmon bites to a serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • For a milder glaze, use less hot honey or substitute with regular honey.
  • If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake the salmon bites in a preheated oven at 400°F for 12-15 minutes.
  • Use skinless salmon fillets to avoid extra crisping time and ease of cutting into cubes.
  • Ensure salmon is cooked to an internal temperature of 140-145°F for safety and optimal texture.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro for added color and freshness.
