Description
Crispy and flavorful Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings cooked to perfection in the air fryer. This easy recipe combines tender chicken wings with a buttery garlic parmesan sauce and a hint of parsley, making a perfect party appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Wings
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 1 level tbsp aluminium-free baking powder
- ½ tsp table salt
- ½ tsp pepper
Garlic Parmesan Sauce
- 90 g unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 50 g parmesan (finely grated)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- ¼ tsp table salt (optional)
- ¼ tsp pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, ensuring they crisp up nicely when cooked. In a large bowl, toss the wings with the baking powder, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper until evenly coated.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 200°C (about 400°F) and allow it to preheat for 5 minutes to ensure a hot cooking environment.
- Cook the Wings: Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding them. Air fry for 35 minutes, turning the wings halfway through to ensure even crisping and browning.
- Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce: While the wings cook, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook gently for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic. Remove from heat and stir in the grated parmesan, dried parsley, ¼ tsp salt (if using), and ¼ tsp pepper until well combined.
- Toss Wings in Sauce: When the wings are done and crispy, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm garlic parmesan sauce over the wings and toss well until all wings are evenly coated.
- Serve: Serve the wings hot as a delicious appetizer or snack. Garnish with extra parsley or parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Ensure the wings are dry before coating with baking powder for maximum crispiness.
- If you prefer less salty wings, omit or reduce the additional salt in the sauce and add after tasting.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to maintain crispiness.
- Substitute dried parsley with fresh parsley for a brighter flavor if available.
- Use aluminium-free baking powder to avoid any metallic taste and food safety concerns.
