Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1½ pound sirloin steak (cut into bite size pieces, or strip loin, tenderloin, strip steak or rib eye)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Heat the Skillet: Add the olive oil to a large skillet and heat it over high heat until it is hot enough to sear the steak.
- Sear the Steak: Add the steak pieces to the hot skillet and season them generously with salt and pepper. Cook for at least 2 minutes without stirring to develop a good sear.
- Continue Cooking: Stir the steak pieces and cook for another 2 minutes until they turn golden brown. If your skillet is small, cook the steak in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: Transfer the steak bites to a plate. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Cook Garlic: Stir the garlic and red pepper flakes for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes aromatic and just starts to brown, being careful not to burn it.
- Toss and Serve: Pour the garlic butter sauce over the steak bites, toss well to coat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Make sure the skillet and olive oil are hot before adding the steak to get a perfect sear.
- Cooking in batches prevents overcrowding and ensures the steak bites brown properly instead of steaming.
- You can substitute sirloin with other tender cuts such as rib eye or tenderloin.
- For less spice, omit or reduce the red pepper flakes.
- Serve with a side of vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
